alright folks, i am really getting annoyed
by this ridiculous ballyhoo about the movies “Fahrenheit 9/11” and “Passion of the Christ” getting snubbed at the Oscars for the best picture nominations. The thing is, all this cacaphony is not because these movies are really good and they got snubbed…its because the extreme left and the (extreme) right want to prove to each other who is the better herd. One side wants to push truth in Hollywood and the other push religion. Obviously Hollywood does not want to be part of this shit and decided to pass on both…but why? Is the Academy scared of a civil war? Puhlease! We just went thru a bipartisan election and the nation is as divided as it was before the Civil War…and yet we all seem to get back to normal life again.
The Academy must have taken a stance and looked at these movies as…movies
instead of chickening out with Ray (Jamie Foxx was great but is the movie good enough for an Oscar?).
Now, I have seen both these movies and I hoped, ahem…as unbiased as I can get, that F9/11 would get the nomination…because it was an overall wellmade and (mostly) the truth and did not wantonly pander to any specific community (well, maybe the righteous:wink:). OTOH, Passion, IMO, is an excruciatingly slowmoving torture, blatantly pandering to the religious.
Now, I wonder why Moore did not submit his movie in the documentary category. It would have been a slam-dunk winner…guess he got greedy and wanted to go for the jugular ![]()
Ironically, both these movies won top awards at the People’s Choice.
So there you go folks, either both these movies win top awards or they both get snubbed. This is life…dont take a stance, dont be opinionated…just keep kissing arses ![]()

Amazing! One of Picasso’s original crayon-on-paper was sold by Costco ![]()
Oh, just so you know, Picasso is definitely my favourite artist…next to Van Gough (mostly because of the latter’s incredible life story)
